Summer 2009♥

I haven’t posted on here in forever… so much has gone on. This summer was pretty good overall. I had surgery in June to correct my deviated septum. It was a septo/rhinoplasty. I was nervous about going under and waking up but it wasn’t too bad. I don’t remember much of it- drugs=amazing haha. I was in ICU overnight just to be monitored. I loved my nurse, she was amazing. The pain was kinda rough and I couldn’t use my bipap for a few days. This almost resulted in another trip to the hospital but we set up in the family room and I stayed in my chair with the tv on and my mask on. I was finally able to relax enough to get some sleep. The pain went away after about a week or two. The first followup appointment was horrible. It hurt so bad. 🙁 But all that is in the past now. I am really happy I did it.

We also went to disney this summer! I loved all of it, from the late nights in the hot tub, my sleepover with courtney, meeting reece and ciaran, and of course seeing MICKEY! It was awesome. The hotel was so nice, I didn’t want to leave. I loved seeing everyone. A couple of things happened throughout the trip that made me shake my head… making me realize that things could be different. Such a difference between some of the people there. A difference in how they acted towards us. Even though I doubt I would’ve hung out with this person if it weren’t for the amc conference, to me, they were super nice. Always asking if I needed anything and freaking out worried I was gonna fall when walking around. Again, not someone I’d normally hangout with, but it was interesting thinking about how they would have acted in a specific situation compared to the person that was actually there. Actually, it was interesting thinking how a few people would have acted. I actually laugh every time I think about this person, because of how hilarious all of our interactions were. Not that I would typically spend my time with them, but for a brief few days, it was amazing. It was tough leaving Florida and that supportive environment. But it proved that things can be different. And I will carry that with me.

When I got back I ramped up my efforts to plan The Spirit of Difference. I had to meet with Vice Chancellor Henderson so many times, but I knew it would be worth it. And it was.
